Some records arrive with noise. Others arrive with feeling. DJ Hloni & Decency’s “Heaven Open Up” belongs to the latter — a beautifully restrained piece of deep house that carries warmth, soul and an unmistakable sense of spiritual elevation.
Heaven Open Up feels like music created for that special space between the dancefloor and introspection.
From the opening moments, the track establishes its own atmosphere. The groove is patient and unhurried, allowing every element to settle naturally into the music. There is depth without heaviness, emotion without excess and a quiet sophistication running through the production.
Began his journey playing his father’s vinyl records and deejaying in his teens.
There is something distinctly South African about that balance. South African Deep House records have always understood that the groove does not merely have to move the body — it can speak to the spirit too.
DJ Hloni & Decency embrace that philosophy beautifully. As the track unfolds, its hypnotic rhythm becomes almost meditative. Nothing feels forced. Nothing is fighting for attention. Instead, the music breathes, gradually pulling the listener deeper into its world.
And perhaps the title says everything.
