  • Patrice Scott
  • Stephanie Cooke
  • Lisa Shaw

Detroit, Michigan native Patrice Scott started DJ’ing in the ’80s, inspired by enigmatic radio jock the Electrifying Mojo and his city’s early techno and house scene. Major figures Ken Collier and Jeff Mills were among the fellow DJs whose paths he crossed while playing various clubs and events throughout the Motor City. At some point, Scott started making remixes, but he kept them to himself, and it wasn’t until 2006 that he debuted with his own material.

Stephanie Cooke is a singer/songwriter whose roots are based in urban Newark, NJ. Born and raised there, she grew up in church like many in the music industry, and found her beginnings in the choir and in small groups as she developed her singing and arranging skills. She wrote her first song under pressure to impress a would be manager who told her that only the artists who could write these days would be successful. That song got recognition at ASCAP and was featured at a songwriter’s workshop where it received rave reviews. This was a stepping-stone in her career as all the publishers at the workshop became interested in hearing what she had to offer. Less that one year later she was writing, arranging and doing background vocals on many major projects and being called upon by many labels to offer songs.

For much of the past 20 years she has made her home as an artist in dance music recording songs on many labels around the globe. Inspired to focus on her art, she wound up recording a full length album which was released in 2003. the album is a combination of many of the songs she recorded over the years along with a few new things.

After battling Breast Cancer and surviving, Stephanie was inspired to start her own label, Angeltown Recordings. Angeltown is a label which focusses mostly on House Music, but more than that, House music that inspires, uplifts and enriches the mind, heart and spirit.

Lisa Shaw’s music is featured on a broad spectrum of genres ranging from Deep House and Down tempo to Drum & Bass and Broken Beat. She’s been featured on albums with King Britt, QBurns Abtsract Message, Presently, Lisa tours solo as well as with dj/ producer Miguel Migs of “Salted Music” in San Francisco. Salted Music released her 2nd album “Free” and has been her home since her departure from Naked Music in 2007.

Lisa Shaw has been a proven staple in the deep house world. She helped define an era with her releases on Naked Music, and continues to create timeless gems. Both albums “Cherry & “Free” take it back to the basics, while “sweet and simply” taking it beyond. Lisa looks forward to the future of her music career and strives for a constant push to explore modern sounds but most important is keeping the essence behind the music no matter how it changes.

It all started in New York City, almost by accident. The Toronto native came to New York on vacation, and never went home. Growing up in Canada, the last of six children with parents of Jamaican heritage. She’s had many genres of music that have influenced her. Her father and brother were both dj’s and at a very young age she had the opportunity to see acts like “Sister Sledge, “Chic” & “Kool and the Gang”. It all took place at Toronto’s Ontario Place where free concerts were put on in the park. As she looks back, she realizes how lucky she was to have witnessed such great classic bands. She may have been a burden to her siblings, but she is more than thankful that her mother made them take her along. Lisa grew up in a house filled with reggae, funk soul, jazz, folk, rock, disco, and new wave. There wasn’t anything she didn’t listen to or wasn’t open to when it came to music, and it shows in her work to date.
