2023 Dance Music Industry Workshops and Summit

The German Embassy Pretoria is excited to present a series of 4 dance music industry workshops in different parts of South Africa this November brought to life in conjunction with GOGO Music and Dance Music Summit (DMS).

The #DMIWorkshop2023 will feature an expanded two-day format, with specialized masterclasses scheduled for Fridays and a diverse range of topics covered on Saturdays. These workshops will be held in:

Bloemfontein,
Mamelodi,
Polokwane

during the first three weekends of November, culminating in a three-day conference from November 28th to 30th at Constitution Hill in Johannesburg.

Building upon the resounding success of the 2022 workshops held in Durban, Gqeberha, Cape Town, and Johannesburg,

2023 Dance Music Industry and Summit Workshops will deliver once again valuable insights into the music industry. Participants will have the opportunity to engage with esteemed musicians, managers, and industry insiders, both local and international, with notable speakers including Clara Hill and Till von Sein from Germany, as well as Ralf GUM, DJ Christos, Vinny Da Vinci, DJ Ganyani, Lady Sakhe, Sir LSG, Sio, Lars Behrenroth and many more.

The Dance Music Summit (DMS) is a skills development agency run by DJ Christos and Lady Sakhe that aims to up-skill and educate anyone interested in the dance music industry. This is done through idea sharing, collaborations, and mentorship, and by creating a space for dance music industry creatives to network and offer skills development workshops to empower the future.

GOGO Music is a music label run by Ralf GUM, which has since long believed in empowering young artist and has successfully held a similar workshop in Soweto already in 2018. By joining forces, all parties involved are proud to be able to present highly valuable educational work in different provinces of the country this year once again.
