Smirnoff and YFM are opening up the industry and making radio legends! Over a12 week period, YFM will be giving your favourite campus DJ’s around the country an opportunity to be a YFM DJ!
This competition marks a proud and meaningful moment for Deep House News, as we witness one of the founding members of the company, pursue a lifelong dream of becoming a mainstream radio DJ.
He first had the opportunity to start working on radio in 2016 as a sport’s caster, presenting the local sports for Pretoria local leagues, granting him access to the local leagues, and plenty of people to interview, and that got him on a path on wanting to connect, interact and educate people using the platform I was given.
He is currently the host of The PowerBEATS, which airs on Saturdays 3-6pm, which has offered him an opportunity to produce, interview artists, and explore more musical genres. Being a host of his own show has taught him the responsibilities of being able to control the narrative of the content you’re putting out to the listeners how important it is to cover relevant and accurate news.
Stay tuned to The Nightcap with Lula Odiba as aspirant radio presenters co-host with Lula for a shot at the big time! Contestants from each campus will co-host the last hour (9pm to 10pm) of The Nightcap with Lula Odiba every Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. Voting for each contestant will open on Mondays and be open until each Friday.
