On Saturday the 29th May 2021, Bathu opened its 25th retail store. The 25th Bathu store is located in Secunda Mall (Mpumalanga, South Africa), and the store was officially opened up with a stylish and creative launch, which featured some of South Africa biggest personalities and musicians.
Bathu has partnered with the below South Africa celebrities and musicians, in order to influence urban culture and fashion, which has resulted in the South African footwear brand, becoming a leading sneaker in the country. Bathu ambassadors Focalistic, Lerato Kganyago, Vusi Nova, Khanyi Mbau, Somizi, Tallarsetee and Lamiez were in attendance for the 25th Store Opening.
About Bathu
In 2009, Theo relocated to Johannesburg to stay with his uncle in Alexandra while studying towards his BCom Accounting degree. Amid all the challenges, Theo had a goal to walk his journey and make it work, so he continued his studies and eventually graduated as an accountant.
In his travels he noticed that there was something missing – an African Sneaker brand, portraying an authentic African story. So he got to work.
In 2015, after months of conceptualizing, feasibility studies and being rejected by 13 different factories, the Mesh Edition Sneaker was born.
