Apple Music launches Isgubhu Playlist

Apple Music unveiled a new playlist called Isgubhu, which will be home to African Dance Music. Isgubhu Zulu word meaning “Beat” but on South African streets, its used to refer to a banging song. The playlist features African House Music artists who are playing a pivotal role in shaping the Dance and Electronic scene across the world from South Africa.

The initially playlist features records by these legendary connoisseurs and world-class music professors such as:

  • Black Coffee
  • Dwson
  • SGVO
  • Lemon & Herb
  • Themba
  • Sun El Musician
  • Toshi
  • Kususa
  • Da Capo
  • Pierre Johnson
  • Karyendasoul

Several sub-genres will live under the banner of Isgubhu including Gqom, Amapiano, Kwaito, Mzansi House, Deep House and Shangaan Electro.
