Vivamus magna justo, lacinia eget consectetur sed, convallis at tellus. House Afrika Records unveil classy new compilation line with a triple CD pack debut entitled, DJ All-Stars, brimming with great local and international beats blended by DJ All-Stars, Funk DeepStar, Malankane and Miggs FoReal.
These spinners are a potent combo and these three talented House Musketeers have already destroyed dance floors with their Selektor Series Pretoria Edition released for Soul Candi in 2014.
Limpopo-born and Botlokwas top jock, Funk DeepStar, is no stranger to the Deep House circles, and his Lets Play House selection has earned him recognition and respect from many Deep House Heads and Music Lovers. Funk Deepstar has previously released three compilations under his name through Soul Candi and is signed to Lars Behrenroths prestigious Deeper Shades of House imprint. Check out an incredible record by Djuma Soundsystem featuring SAs very own Lazarusman on vocals on his disk.
Malankane has also been a regular on the Tshwane and kasi scene for a while and he demonstrates his scintillating musical selections on the second disk of The DJ All-Star Series. The talented DJ traverses us with local and international House favours that feature an incredible collection of vocal gems from the likes of Portia Monique and Jaidene Veda, who rub shoulders with SA singers Qhalane Khiba and Bridgette Tshehla aka Motlatsi.
Garunkuwas Miggs FoReal rounds out this House Music Holy Trinity with a set that moves us from South Africa to Italy to Switzerland to Chicago to Detroit. His mix contains a track by Deep Aztec called A Message to Larry Heard, which pays homage to one of the founding heads of the House movement. Coincidentally, Funk Deepstar features a track that pays homage to Louie Vega, Atjazz and Ralf Gum, and Malankane features a track that dedicates a beautiful message to the Godfather of House, Frankie Knuckles.
The DJ All-Stars series is off to a start that�s both reverential, deliciously funky and future facing.
